Janice N. Sherman
With over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Janice has successfully navigated about every storm you can imagine from an HR perspective. Having started her career with Hyatt Hotels in South Carolina, she was promoted to Virginia and the Washington, DC area where she worked for 10 years providing leadership in both union and nonunion environments. She was the Senior Director of Human Resources for Bally Total Fitness for over 13 years with responsibility for the full delivery of Human Resources services for 90 health clubs spread over 6 different states employing up to 5,000 employees. She was the head of HR for 2 business units with Ecolab Manufacturing for 6 years. Additionally, she worked in the non-profit space assisting with a cause she is passionate about (education for low-income, at-risk children) and enabling the organization to launch their HR function, reduce turnover and increase retention of high potential employees.
From starting the HR function from the ground level to developing and implementing the Strategic HR Business plan, she is adept at both tactical and strategic aspects of the HR function. She started her consulting agency to assist small to medium sized organizations that may not have the revenue base or the need for a fulltime HR function. Her goal is to help business owners maintain compliance while building their bottom line by cultivating a sustainable continuous growth culture. She believes that HR compliance and a caring corporate culture are foundational to bottom line revenue growth.
